Manuscript Review
• The LSJ will choose a reviewing editor to handle your manuscript and our choice is final.
• The fee quoted covers the cost of the review, and the subsequent follow up as detailed on the enrolment form. We are not able to provide a continuous support service as part of the review process.
• In the event that no reviewing editor is prepared to handle your manuscript, we reserve the right to return it to you and refund your fees in full.
• Manuscripts should be submitted in accordance with our published guidelines. We do not accept delivery by post except by prior agreement.
• All work submitted is treated as confidential - it is your copyright.
• We do not look for or expect to receive fees or commissions in respect of any recommendations we make to publishers or agents.
• The report you receive remains the copyright of the LSJ.
• In the unlikely event that we decide to recommend a manuscript for direct submission to a publisher or agent, we will tell you. We will not suggest submission unless we feel it worthwhile, and we will not suggest your work is potentially marketable if it is not.
• The LSJ will not work with any form of vanity publishers, or assist you in any existing involvement with vanity publishers.
Mentoring Service
• The LSJ will choose a mentoring editor to handle your manuscript and our choice is final.
• In the event that no mentoring editor is prepared to handle your manuscript, we reserve the right to return it to you and refund your fees in full.
• The mentoring sessions must be completed within the time-scale set out in the enrolment information.
• Your written work should be submitted in accordance with our published guidelines. We do not accept delivery by post except by prior agreement.
• The means of communication between you and your mentor will be agreed individually. The normal method will be the inter-active real-time video link available as part of the LSJ online lecture room - but your mentor may agree to communicating by post or email if this is your preference. Certain mentors will only work by email or online. Postal mentoring may involve a surcharge to the quoted fee, dependent upon your location.
• All contact with your mentor should be made only within the framework of the LSJ mentoring service.
• In the unlikely event of either you or your mentor reaching the conclusion that there is a breakdown in the relationship between you, the LSJ may, at its discretion, either arrange for another mentoring editor to continue your course, or cancel the course and provide a proportionate refund of your fee. This decision is at the sole discretion of the LSJ.
• The LSJ will not work with any form of vanity publishers, or assist you in any existing involvement with vanity publishers.
